Rosa was kind enough to let me know that the owner of this place has been sentenced at Worcester Crown Court on April 23 2007 after pleading guilty to three charges under the Trade Description Act 1968 for falsely describing holiday accommodation and to two offences under the Theft Act 1968 relating to the theft of property from guests.

More bad experiences at Howle Hill, I'm afraid. Mr & Mrs Frost have just emailed me "We are one of a party of 8 that had a horrendous week at HOWLE HILL over this last New Year.. We have a court case pending mid September."

Hi we have just had the great misfortune to spend two nights at Howle Hill. If only we had seen your website and the link to the report of Herefordshire Council's case against this woman. She wrongly accused us of breaking one of her beds (it was broken before we arrived). While we were out for the day, she went through all the rooms in the cottage without our permission and then locked us out. We spent between 2 and 3 hours on the Sunday evening attempting to persuade her to hand us the key so that we and our three daughters could get indoors and out of the cold. We are in the process of complaining to Herefordshire trading standards and a company called Zabadak who advertised the cottage in a brochure which was linked to a half price offer promoted by The Bath Chronicle. I'm so sorry to hear that! Sounds miserable :(

Anonymous paul and diana said (17 days ago):

Good news! Zabadak have written to the owner of Old Lime Kilns and Brynheulog, Mrs Heulwen Smith, to say she should no longer accept any bookings from their half price holiday cottage clients. Please be sure to check the trading standards website of Herefordshire Council if you are thinking of staying at Howle Hill.
