I live with my husband and four beautiful daughters aged 13, 9 and twins aged 4.I live in South Shields which is about 20 miles from Newcastle, on the coast.I run an online store selling childrens clothes and fancy dress costumes.
All my four daughters have gone through this school, I still have my three youngest there now.The staff are wonderful and really promote building confidence in all the children. The older children are given the chance to become playground buddies to make sure no one is left all alone at playtime.Yes we all want out kids to do well but to them the most important thing is having someone to play with.So well done and thank you! My daughters have also done very very well educationly too thanks to the school
This is a great place to take the kids when you are on tight budget. Its free entry, and as it is a working farm fascinating for the kids.Plenty of facilities to wash their hands and a picnic area too.
Always popular with the older kids this one! Very popular with local teenagers in the evening though.Security is good and drinking isn't tolerated so quite a safe environment but don't let them venture too far from you. There are lots of attractions nearby too.Great for a day out
This has been a favourite with all my kids.Best for the under eights I would say.Best to look out for their open days when it is free etry and they have art and craft activities. You can tour the lihgthouse and see rooms as they looked many many years ago.You can climb the lighthouse but not suitable for little ones or anyone with mobility problems. The snall tearoom is lovely with homecooked meals and scones and toasted teacakes. There is a nice giftshop too with quite a goodrange to chose from
Very popular with nursery schools ! They have very good educational facilties so children are learning while they have fun.Best parts are the touch and feel section where litte ones can touch starfish etc.
The otters are out of this world I could watch them all day.Cafe is quite expensive but you can take a pack lunch.Be prepared to take some money forthe gift shop. The local papers quite often have two for one offers on . Good day out but you an easily do it in half a day.Beach is just outside so you can always go there afterwards.
Dads will enjoy this but not very exciting for kids, unless they love the Romans.Look out for their enactment days though as these are fun.Usually runin school holidays and advertised locally. They dress up as romans and act out events from the past. They also have art and craft activites on these days too where the kids can usually make something interesting to take home. The Fort consists of a musuem and a genuine roman fort tha is being rebuilt. My old school was flattened to make way for it sadly. They were excavating nearby and realised the ruins went under the school. I used to watchthe archaeoligists at playtime through the school gates.Boys will probably enjoy this one the most.
