I have four children, two boys and two girls, aged from 11 to 3 years old.

I am addicted to Mumsnet.com and have made a lot of friends there, this is where I saw this website advertised.

I enjoy days out with my family (and doing anything that helps me to avoid the ever growing pile of ironing).

I enjoy a nice meal out and a few drinks too and going to see a good film.

I've been adding some more comments, I didn't realise that I've been to so many places!

Days Out Croxeth Hall & Country Park, 26.06.2007:

My family visit this park regularly, it's very large and perfect to take a picnic to on a lovely day. There is a pets corner there but it is charged for and to be honest on a hot day the smell can be overpowering! The cafe is clean and hot and cold snacks are available. Definately recommended for a lovely day.

Eating Out La Busola, 26.06.2007:

Highly recommended! This restaurant has recently been refurbished and the food is delicious, offering Italian and French dishes (and quite a lot in between). The restaurant is quite small, but I liked that as the atmosphere was cosy and welcoming. I'll definately be going back there (babysitter permitting).

Eating Out Damon's, 26.06.2007:

Damons is an American style restaurant and is nicely laid out with cosy booths. There is a special early diner offer where one child eats free when an adult meal is purchased, I think it is before 6pm (but you can check that by giving them a quick phone call).

They also offer a FREE meal on your birthday, you just need to show your driving licence or something similar. The onion loaf is delicious!

Play Grandma's, 26.06.2007:

We love Grandmas! It costs £3.95 for two hours but I've never been asked to leave and usually stay for 3 hours at least. There are two soft play areas, one for babies and toddlers and the larger one for children over the age of 4 (saying that my 3 year old loves to go in there too when it's quiet). The cafe there is excellent offering snacks and main meals too, the Latte Coffee is lovely!

Days Out Knowsley Safari Park, 26.06.2007:

Brilliant day out for all the family! The park has a 'car friendly' route too so you can bypass the pesky monkeys! There is a fair there too and a new attraction has recently been opened there where you can climb on high ropes (not for the faint hearted).

Days Out Museum of Liverpool Life, 26.06.2007:

Another great day out as it's FREE! There are different subjects on display all the time and my children love it as it keeps changing! There is a small shop there too, but it's mainly aimed at tourists.

Days Out Speke Hall, Gardens & Woodland, 26.06.2007:

We are National Trust members and often come here to just let the children play in the playground which has bark chippings to soften any falls. There is a lovely little cafe there where you can buy snacks and drinks and ice-cream and a small shop selling little gifts. The main reason my children like going is the woodland walk and the fact that they can see the planes coming in to land at John Lennon Airport!

Schools Springwood Heath Primary School, 26.06.2007:

The first school in Liverpool purpose-built to accommodate mainstream and disabled children. Springwood Heath primary is the result of a merger between Springwood primary and Harold Magnay special school in Woolton. The school was officially opened just last week (June 2007) and is stunning.

The classrooms are double the size of the old ones and have toilets in each classroom. There is a physiotherapy suite and even a pool. The outside play facilities are marvellous, there are two separate playgrounds for the nursery and junior children. There is even an enclosed outside football area too! The staff are lovely and the children all love their new school!

Days Out Walton Hall & Gardens, 26.06.2007:

This is a beautiful park that has a lovely pet corner, there are guinea pigs, rabbits, peacocks, ducks, geese, pigs and even a donkey and a pony, no food is available to buy as feeding the animals isn't allowed. There is a very small cafe where hot and cold drinks and crisps can be bought and there's a small bicyle museum there too which is free to look around. In the summer there is usually a large bouncy castle there which is charged for.

Days Out Blue Planet Aquarium, 26.06.2007:

My children loved it here, but on the downside it is quite expensive as it takes such a short amount of time to go around the aquarium. The best part was walking through the glass tunnel and watching all the beautiful fish and sharks swimming above you.

There is a cafe but it is expensive and there's a shop too, so try not to let your children spot it as you'll have no money left!

Days Out Pennington Flash Country Park, 26.06.2007:

Lovely large lake with swans, ducks and geese and a childrens outdoor play area. Unfortunately there is no cafe or anywhere to buy drinks/snacks apart from the ice-cream that occasionally parks there. We walked around the huge lake and it took us over an hour and half, not very easy to do if you are pushing a pram though.

Days Out Gulliver's World, 26.06.2007:

We've been going to Gulliver's World now for years and it's suitable from little toddlers up to adults. There is a very good cafe there selling hot and cold food and drinks and a gift shop too. At Christmas there is a Grotto and show which includes a meal. Recommended for a lovely day out for all the family.

Days Out Marbury Country Park, 26.06.2007:

Beautiful huge park with lovely woodland walks, we've even walked through a field full of bulls! There is a designated dog field too which is completely fenced in for safety. There is a large lake on one side of the park and I've taken our dog there for a swim. Unfortunately, there is no cafe only toilets, so taking a picnic would be advisable.

Days Out Chester Zoo, 26.06.2007:

We love Chester Zoo, but the cafe prices are very expensive so when we go we always take a picnic to enjoy and sit at one of the many picnic benches, take plenty of drinks too in a cool box as it is thirsty work walking all around the zoo!
